I am experimenting with selling jewelry on eBay.
The idea came from: every time I go to a trade show or art fair, I see people flocked at most jewelry booths. Looks like women can’t have enough of them.
The store is set up and I am listing items as fast as I could.
The name of the store is Sofie Rain, www.sofierain.com 
  

  
 Marketing Plan
   

Jewelry will be the main focus.
I am experimenting with gallery (high-end) type of sterling silver jewelry as well as custome jewelry.
 
I will bring many popular items to bring traffic heavily into the store such as magazines, Christmas ornaments, fragrance (perfume), hair care products, high end lotions, and more idea later. Some may not bring any profits, but it’s the traffic I am after.
 
There will be lotion samples to go with every packaged to bring customers back into the store. This came from Lisa Suttora’s idea to have some items that needs to be replenished.
 
Each package will also includes a small jewelry cleaner cloth, as a courtesy to the customer.
  
Modeled after Zappo.com, I offer free shipping both ways for jewelry purchase, return in 90 days.
 
Monthly newsletter will go out with new items promotion, limited quantity sales. I am thinking about cross promoting this store with the western bedding and furnishing store (www.wildmoosedesigns.com), ie: offers jewelry with bedding purchase.
  

  
 Goal

  • I would like to make $100 profit a day, and quit my part time job.

  • Increase repeat customer sales.

  • Have a separate website once business on ebay is estabilished.

  • College funds and retirement, we need to start funding them aggressively.

What is a good store category set up?

Currently it is set up as follows:

Should items listed by price? I see some jewelry stores have done this. 

Is it a good idea to separate high end designer jewelry from the lower priced fashion jewelry.

Is it a good idea to use Featured Plus when listing jewelry items to get traffics into the stores. There are a lot of jewelry listings and I thought this might be helpful.

  • Write about specific brands of high end jewelry cleaner.

  • Information on specific Gem Stones.

Any idea of what other popular items I should look into to bring heavy traffic into the store?
